The Mystery of the Silver Rings
Walker is driving back to Ontario from Vancouver where his girlfriend and he were living together before she decided to return to Toronto. Broken down in the middle of nowhere, after he gave a rather spooky hitch hiker a ride, he's abducted by a farmer and his son and only when they clear up that he's not some satanic fiend terrorizing their farm, he's forced to spend the night there. Only things start getting really scary from there.
I had wanted to post something appropriately spooky for the evening and remembered this play, one from a series of the CBC Mystery Project, one of James W. Nichol's Midnight Cab series.
Most of the transcriptions I found posted online were from the very bad ones found on the Archive.org posting of this series and the only one that at least starts out clearly is on this large Youtube file holding a large number of plays in that series (if they're clear, it's worth listening to more of them. I enjoyed the series quite a lot in the 1990s. I haven't listened to all of it but what I did hear is quite listenable.
