Update

My brother corrects me that it wasn't Weather Report who played Icarus, it was Oregon, another group I wasn't that hot on.   They were all right but I liked Ralph Towner's work with other musicians better.

  1. It was The Paul Winter Consort on their third album, Road, that included Towner. This was a successful album and Towner's Icarus was probably their biggest song. The album was taken to the moon by Apollo XV. The astronauts named two craters after Ghost Beads and Icarus, two of the tracks.
Paul Winter went on to become some New Age type. People who like that kind of shit tell me that work is great.
