THE SLANDER against Sally Rooney and the Irish People in regard to their opposition of the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian People has long roots and contains many an irony. The Brit establishment, including the Labour Party and virtually the entire Brit media are silencing the opposition to the ongoing genocide adopting fascist policies in order to do that - they don't suppress the supporters of that genocide but those who oppose it.
Owen Jones does a good job of pointing out the incredible hypocrisy of the whole thing. I hope that Sally Rooney sues Adam Boulton and wins. But if she does it will be against the very Brit legal system that codified the lies that he told against her. The irony is that that line conflating supporting the genocidal Israeli government's genocide with "Jews" is the very substance of the most putrid forms of antisemitism but in the double-talk of support for Israel, it is ubiquitous among the supporters of Israel, the first to call out "antisemitism."
