I was listening to reporting on the $250 bill all day yesterday (road trip). The mint takes 6-8 years to get a newly designed bill into circulation. (They don’t just stick it in an ATM.) Design, engraving, printing, etc. Trump probably would be dead by then. But the bill Bessent refers to was introduced early this year. Nobody wants to touch it with a club. It’s certainly not going to pass between now and July. Congress will recess for August and not come back until December: election year, donchaknow? And yes, Bessent is a loathsome character.
