Looking over the comment threads, since I've read all of what the officials in Colorado Springs have said about the attack against the Planned Parenthood clinic up to the minute, it's clear they've got the same journalistic instincts and practices that CNN had that fateful afternoon of Balloon Boy.
It would be irresponsible not to speculate is, in fact, the common wisdom of the internet set. And I can only imagine what Twitter is carrying like some pandemic disease.
Is it any wonder why so many people believe conspiracy rumors and paranoid narratives when the people who believe they are the reality community can't wait for actual reporting by people who have something at stake in their at least trying to be accurate?
Update: So far, all of the Xian bashers who blamed yesterday's attack on Planned Parenthood on Christians in general have blamed the police office for his own murder. Like Dr. George Tiller, Officer Garrett Swasey was not only religious, he and his wife were very active members of their congregation.

BTW, Colorado Springs -- which is the home of the odious Christian nutjob group Focus on the Family, led by the genuinely evil Christian nutjob Dr. James Dobson (""the nation's most influential evangelical leader" -- TIME) -- is an overwhelmingly Christian nutjob town. It was no accident the shooting happened there. And if I were a betting man, I'd lay down serious money that the guy who did it turns out to be yet another cracker Christian nutjob.
Wow, James Dobson is based in Colorado Springs so that proves that the Christians are to blame, right? Colorado Springs is defined by that fact. Only you don't seem to understand that Colorado Springs was also the location of the Planned Parenthood clinic which was attacked, it was where all of the people who worked there and, I would bet, many of the other people trapped inside of it by Robert Dear were residents of Colorado Springs. Or do you imagine that the central casting flew them in from the coast to produce your fantasy production instead of what happened?

Last time I looked not much was known about Robert Dear, other than that he had a few known criminal charges and he was from North Carolina, the reason I was so irresponsible according to the Eschaton rules so as to not speculate about him.
Well, let's consider who is based in New York City and on who we can base, according to your rules, we can make assumptions about you.
And, least it be forgotten, the city which hired the other Colorado Springs Police Department members who were shot and who put themselves in the same danger that the, apparently evangelical Christian Garret Swasey put himself in.

Well, there are few places in the United States that more people would identify for its concentration of assholes than New York City, I wouldn't assume that any given person there was an asshole, though I've certainly known more than my share of people like you from your overrated metropolis.
