Merrick Garland is little different from Robert Mueller, both are establishment hacks who value their own ease of career more than they do government of by and for The People. The establishment hacks are not going to protect us. Congress should start arresting and jailing those in contempt of their subpoenas themselves because waiting for Garland is more futile than waiting for Godot.

  1. "STEVE FUCKING DRUNKEN INSANE BANNON JUST INDICTED!
Arrest warrant signed. He will now either go to jail, or flee the country. I mean, it's not like he's got competent lawyers who will take his case knowing they won't be paid. 🙂"

    Wrong again, schmucko. :)

  2. To start with it wasn't Merrick Garland who went after Steve Bannon, it was the January 6th committee and then the Grand Jury, DoJ dragged its feet, I am certain the criticism of Merrick Garland played a role in them doing what should have been inevitable as soon as Bannon didn't appear as was mandatory once he got the subpoena from the committee. It's not as if the DoJ under Garland has seen the tiny little matter of saving the United States from organized, well financed, media supported fascist putschists and terrorists has seemed like a matter of great urgency, up till now. They're so lax that even some of the judges hearing the cases have noted the soft-glove approach the prosecutors from the DoJ and the FBI have been taking. There's no way to know but I can't imagine Garland and his team were unaware of the growing criticism of their inaction on such matters. The stately dance of the judicial and "justice" systems move at a much faster pace when it's People of Color and the poor and unconnected who are their targets, as I've pointed out here, Nina Totenberg noted that when he was a judge Garland was to the right of Antonin Scalia in matters of being harsh with defendants. He and Mueller are cut from the same expensive fabric, I don't trust him anymore than I did Mueller, aka Bill Barr's good buddy.
