"It seems to me that to organize on the basis of feeding people or righting social injustice and all that is very valuable. But to rally people around the idea of modernism, modernity, or something is simply silly. I mean, I don't know what kind of a cause that is, to be up to date. I think it ultimately leads to fashion and snobbery and I'm against it."

LEVEL BILLIONAIRES OUT OF EXISTENCE
NPR interviewed some Trump supporters who still gave him the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure they don't listen to Olbermann's videos, so I understand why they cling to their beliefs.
It's Trump I don't understand. How is he not in psychiatric care for his own good? Seriously. Not only is the emperor naked, he's mad as a hatter.
NPR would go to the ends of the world to find Trump supporters who are true believers, it's what NPR does. Which is why I never listen to it voluntarily anymore. I generally only hear it while riding with someone else - too blind to drive.
Trump's ability to gain the office and stay in it with the course of conduct he's taken is an obvious failure of both the American free press and the American Constitution. He is insane, he is playing with nuclear war and has been for several weeks and no one has seen fit to take him out of office. Which proves that those in the Republican establishment are as loony as he is. That the American media isn't howling for his removal before Seoul or Tokyo or some place else doesn't go up in a mushroom cloud over him playing chicken with an equally insane leadership under an equally mad system proves that all those Jeffersonian assumptions about them as the last hope for democracy were unrealistically optimistic.
I am convinced, more and more, every day that the only thing that kept the United States together as a relatively less depraved country than many was the religion of the majority of Americans which, if it didn't compel a more moral and rational life, at least encouraged it.
