I wouldn't be surprised if the first were true, the second, not in a jillion years would the Republicans put even a mild socialist a heartbeat away from the presidency, especially while Trump is 70 and looks like the mortician's makup person did the job on acid.

ReplyDeleteKaren Tumulty wrote a column recently about Hillary's "Foreign policy speech," pointing out it showed how Trump had led the conversation down to his level, because Clinton said nothing about foreign policy, and just trashed Trump. It's become the go-to way to read that speech (Neal Gabler did the same thing at Bill Moyers.com, reposted on Salon).
Of course, as Bee points out, nobody covered Hillary's real policy speech, so the only way she gets media coverage is to attack Trump. Which is still Hillary's fault; somehow.
The American media generally all just figure if they blame it on a Clinton they've done their job. I listened to the speech and I got a lot more than that out of it.
