"The recluse accused of killing three people and wounding nine in an attack on a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado posted ranted about the apocalypse and posted Biblical passages online - while also seeking sadomasochistic sex..."
Oh well, that last part about the S&M is obvious just an anomaly.

Oh, I read that story about an hour ago. It also noted he listened to rock music. Now.... well, I guess I won't ask YOU to tell me, what are his actions more in line with, the Gospel of Jesus whose earliest followers were notable for being pacifists, or a large range or rock music. Maybe he listened to your favorites, Mick and his old Stones who promoted S&M and Bondage in a series of songs and albums.
And let me add, why not blame his crimes on him being a man? While everything he did was in opposition to the teachings of Jesus, everything he's done is in line with crimes almost exclusive to the male gender. While many men don't become mass killers of his kind doesn't change the fact that almost all of such incidents are done by men, many of whom are not Christians, a significant number of whom have been atheists, as I pointed out to you and Septic Tank a while back. That's a far stronger indicator than the religion which is at odds with what he did.
Update: Well, I used to consider my brawls with Simels the loss leader for this blog, considering it's him he's more of a lead loser.
Update 2: I used to figure Simps misrepresenting what I said was free advertising and would attract readers, then I realized that most of the people at the place he lies about me don't bother to read anything either. It's pretty much the theme of this weekend's posts that the internet seems to encourage people to jump to conclusions without reading and, wouldn't you know it, the conclusion they jump to is the one they like the most. Some life of the mind, huh?

ReplyDeleteRemember all those Rolling Stones songs advocating the bombing of abortion clinics? Yeah, me neither.
In any case, the Colorado Springs shooter's actions are more in the line with the rhetoric of the nutjob fundie Christians who actually do tend to blow up abortion clinics.
I don't recall
Oh, I guess I need to consult your superior knowledge, remind me of the Bible verses where Jesus and Paul, James, Peter, Jude, etc. advocated bombing abortion clinics. Anyone who bombs or shoots up abortion clinics can't be getting the idea from the Bible. They might get ideas about shooting up and bombing and holding women under their thumb from rock music.
DeleteI have to say I'm glad you were too much of a coward to go into police work, you'd have made a really lousy detective.
"Mick and his old Stones who promoted S&M and Bondage in a series of songs and albums."
ReplyDeleteActually they promoted bondage in exactly one infamous billboard and sort of mentioned it in one song.
Again, thanks for playing.
"Anyone who bombs or shoots up abortion clinics can't be getting the idea from the Bible."
ReplyDeleteRemind me again of all those atheists who are blowing up abortion clinics or murdering abortion providers?
Thank you.
Well, not one of them is following the teachings of Jesus or his earliest followers, or any main line church I'm aware of. I'll bet there isn't any main line denomination that wouldn't condemn it.
DeleteTell me what in atheism says its wrong to bomb an abortion clinic or murder the people who work in them. I'll bet I could come up with a long list of religious figures who disapprove of that, I'd start with the late Pastor Garrett Swasey who, as you and your buddies were having your hate feast at Duncan's was dying trying to stop Robert Dear.
Oh, there was quite a lot more of it than that. No one except maybe a really stupid rock critic would deny the massive misogyny and objectification of women in Mick and his Stones. Under My Thumb, alone would have taught a pathological woman hater all he needed to know.
ReplyDeleteAnd I could get into the flagrant racism of some of it.
Yeah, I would bet that he spent a lot more time absorbing the words of rock songs than he did The Bible. As I recall, his wife only claimed he read it cover to cover, I'm sure even avoiding them, I heard more of the mop heads and the stones than I spent reading The Bible. And I know my way around it a bit.
"Oh, there was quite a lot more of it than that."
ReplyDeleteNo, there wasn't. You specifically said they promoted S&M and bondage in "a series of songs and albums." Which is complete 100 percent unadulterated horseshit.
In any case, do you have any idea how pathetic it is you're trying to dodge the religious responsibility for Colorado Springs by blaming a fucking rock band?
Brown Sugar, Under My Thumb, Black and Blue, The Last Time (he was such a low life rip off), Gunface....
DeleteGonna go down town, gonna get my gun.... I've got a debt to repay, I ain't gonna cry, put a gun to your face, you'll pay with your life.... When the juice is squeezed, you're gonna pay with your life... I taught her everything and now I'm gonna see her go....
Yeah, real pacific.
Name where he'd have gotten the permission to do what he did in the Bible.
BLACK AND BLUE is an album title referring to black music and the blues.
DeleteNot one of the songs you just referenced has anything to do with S&M.
Good god, you're a pervert.
Yeah, I know, I had a friend who wrote a song about broom handling Mick Jagger after she saw it and, as I recall, taking the swagger out of him with a dagger. She'd have mopped the floor with Mick if they'd ever met. She was a tough customer, he's a phony little punk.
DeleteYou have a friend who fantasized about kicking Mick Jagger's ass?
DeleteWow -- THERE's somebody with issues.
:-)
Oh, you mean unlike Mick's issues with lashing black women held in slavery, his issues of putting women under his thumb, his issues with beating women black and blue, his issues with shooting women in the face.....
DeleteHey, I'm not a woman and I feel like shooting him in the gut and watching him die, good thing I think it's a sin to do that because when I think about his career, I'd love to give him back some of that. Now, that's the difference between someone who takes the words of Jesus seriously enough to not do things like that and someone who doesn't believe what Jesus said was true. I'd never advocate someone do that, my friend wasn't a Christian, she didn't feel any such restraints.
Now, if she's got issues, what does it say about a pathetic man like you who's a fan of Mick and his old Stones?
"Mick's issues with lashing black women held in slavery"
DeleteI await your condemnation of Randy Newman's "Sail Away" as being objectively pro-slavery.
God, you're an idiot.
Oh, yeah, it's so obvious that in each and every case when Mick Jagger fed the most base of racist, sexist male supremacist fantasies that he was being satirical, he was being satirical in such a way that he got myriads of adolescent sexually maladjusted males grooving to his stuff as they really meant it.
DeleteYou have some kind of mental disorder that leads you to say such patently and transparently false bull shit and that you can turn it into sentences allows you to imagine other people who can think and reason will be required to pretend it's true. I'd come up with some name for it that includes yours but I think you'd figure it was some kind of compliment.
"Tell me what in atheism says its wrong to bomb an abortion clinic or murder the people who work in them. "
ReplyDeleteTell me the atheists who have ever done it.
I don't know, I can tell you that anyone who did it was violating the teachings of Jesus, they'd be totally consistent with the non-teachings of atheism, that would make their crime consonant with a professed belief, it's not consonant with a belief in what Jesus said.
Delete"Gonna go down town, gonna get my gun.... I've got a debt to repay, I ain't gonna cry, put a gun to your face, you'll pay with your life.... When the juice is squeezed, you're gonna pay with your life... I taught her everything and now I'm gonna see her go.... "
ReplyDeleteA song that has nothing whatsoever to do with S&M or bondage. It's about a jealous lover killing his woman. Kind of like OTHELLO.
Which Shakespeare didn't write, of course.
:-)
Oh, yeah, everyone knows that glorying in making some woman cringe and cry as you menace them with a gun has nothing to do with sadism or control.
DeleteSee my answer above about your mental disorder.
You really think that Gunface is equivalent to Othello. Gee, I wish I had your insight into the plays attributed to Shakespeare (whoever he was). You're a regular A. L. Rowse.
Why do you think it's glorying?
ReplyDeleteIssues, dude. Get help.
This is hilarious, you're pretending you don't believe he really meant it.
DeleteYou get so funny when you're riding on empty.
BTW, you do know there's a tradition of murder songs in the blues, right?
ReplyDeleteWhile Mick Jagger stole everything in his act from black people, Robert Dear's wife didn't say that he listened to the blues, she said he listened to rock and roll.
DeleteAnd there was a lot more to the blues than that.
The flop sweat at Casa Sparky is reaching flood proportions.
ReplyDeleteNot even humid. I'm not the one here pretending that Mick Jagger didn't sing all those songs about abusing, oppressing, dominating and killing women. And I never got paid for pretending to be an expert in such junk.
DeleteYou do know there's also a tradition of murder songs in English folk music as well, right?
ReplyDeleteI know it's hard for you to focus, but your own authority on him, his former wife, never said he listened to English folk music, he listened to rock.
DeleteYou haven't identified anywhere in the Gospels that what he did is authorized, there's plenty in rock about shooting women and cops. If you're looking for motives for gun killing it's stupid to attribute it to a book which forbids the killing of innocent people, for a start, and, especially, that part of it that doesn't even authorize killing the guilty and letting off a genre of pop music that advocates shooting women in the face, putting them under men's thumbs and controlling them and, as I mentioned, doing what else Robert Dear's crime consisted of, shooting cops.
But, then, you and the "Brain Trust" wouldn't let something like reason get in the way of a good hatin' on the Christians.
