Woke Up This Morning Thinking Of Walter Brueggemann And This Piece Came To Mind

William Bolcom - Gospel Prelude 12:  Free Fantasia on O, Zion Haste And How Firm A Foundation

Gregory Hand, Organ

Maybe I'll post all of them over the next week or so.  I do admire the Protestant musical tradition at its best and I love the musical culture of church organists.   If I had it to do over again I'd have majored in organ and taken a church job,  in the 60s and early 70s that wasn't a job I'd have felt secure in, certainly not in a Catholic church,  priests and bishops are notoriously cheapskates when it comes to paying for music.

William Bolcom is the greatest American composer of my lifetime.
