"It seems to me that to organize on the basis of feeding people or righting social injustice and all that is very valuable. But to rally people around the idea of modernism, modernity, or something is simply silly. I mean, I don't know what kind of a cause that is, to be up to date. I think it ultimately leads to fashion and snobbery and I'm against it."

No Posts For a While
Our mother died today. I don't have the heart to write anything.
Christ is before you, and peace is on his mind. Sleep, O sleep, in the peace of all peace. Sleep, O sleep, in the calm of all calm. Sleep, O sleep, in the Love of all loves. Sleep you this night in the God of all life.
My deepest sympathies for you and your family. May God's comforting presence be with you all.
Much sympathy. I lost my mom two and a half years ago. Still seems like earlier this year.
This is an evening prayer, I think, of Newman's. But I find it fits when someone close dies:
May God support us all the day long, till the shades lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in His mercy may He give us a safe lodging, and a holy rest and peace at the last.
Christ is before you, and peace is on his mind.

Oh my god, I am so sorry. Holding you and your family in the Light. Pax.
