Are The State Department And The Deparment of Defense Oh The Hook When Stupid Athletes Get Themselves In Trouble Stupidly Going To Russia In The Buildup To Extreme Tensions. With Hash Oil!

I DON'T HAVE AN extremely high opinion of  the intellect of many, perhaps most people in sports, too many of whom replace self-obsession and their kiddies' game for basic awareness of reality.  But Brittney Griner going to Russia this year is among the most  stupid and irresponsible things I can imagine anyone doing.   Though I'd say the same thing if she were a business woman or actor or anything.  And to do so with hash oil is ever more stupid.  ANYONE who didn't have an absolutely dire need to go from the United States to the Putin dictatorship in the past couple of months or who chose to stay there should be understood to be on their own.  

And then there is that she is an LGBTQ Woman of Color going to play professional basketball in a country ruled by among the more LGBTQ hostile dictators, sexists and racists in Eurasia.  LGBTQ People living in something like freedom should be uniformly boycotting any country that treats LGBTQ People living there like the Putin regime does.

She created a huge and dangerous problem for a lot of people, it is really stupid and I do think she is entirely to blame for it.  She should have stayed here.  The People on line who I got into an argument over this said that as an athlete she isn't responsible for knowing "geopolitics."   I would give her more credit than to claim that she isn't to be held to a standard higher than what you might excuse in a 10-year-old, and a rather stupid one, at that.  If she chose to be that stupid then her situation is, again, her fault.  She made herself the plaything of a vicious dictator as certainly as that stupid college kid did the Kim regime in North Korea a few years back.   He ended up paying for that stupidity in the name of adventure with his life.

It should be a basic rule that no one from the United States should do something that stupid and expect the Federal Government to save them from their bad choices BECAUSE THEY OFTEN CAN'T!   They should teach that to 10-year-olds and maybe it will take with the like of screen actors and pro-athletes.
